Play and Creative Art Therapy is used by practitioners addressing the emotional, behavioural and social difficulties of children and young people.

It can be very difficult for children and teenagers to talk openly about how they feel and why they are behaving in a certain way.  They may not feel comfortable or confident talking to someone but more likely they just don't know how to express how they feel or even what they are feeling and why.

Play and Creative Art Therapy by-passes the common questions of "what is the matter?"and "why are you doing that?".  No questions need to be asked and no verbal answers are expected, instead Therapists use the child's universal tools of play and creativity to help them to make sense of their world , what is happening and their worries.

Small Steps Therapy Ltd started in 2009 and has since provided both individual, group therapy and workshops for children, young people and their parents.  Our work started in the UK but has become international, specialising in supporting Expat children and their families who move around the world.
